WHEN Sally Cornock saw her boyfriend Tony had left his mobile phone behind after leaving for work, she couldn't resist the temptation to take a peek.

With her heart in her mouth and stomach churning, she picked it up and pressed the green button to open up his texts.

Nothing could have prepared Sally for what she found.

"Monday was great. Can't wait to do it again", read the first message. Then another, "Looking forward to tomorrow night".

Stunned Sally, 42, scrolled though the rest of the texts and found it filled with flirty messages - all arranging or discussing dates Tony was planning to go on. And all from different women.

The shell-shocked company director worked out that, in total, he was seeing FIFTY-THREE other women.

Sally, from Deal in Kent, had met 42-year-old Tony on an internet dating site three months earlier and thought things were going well.

Silent

He was the first bloke she had dated since her divorce a year earlier and the couple had just returned from a romantic holiday.

But recently she'd become aware that Tony always had his mobile phone on silent and never let it out of his sight. He even put it under his pillow while he slept and in his dressing gown pocket while he showered.

And he was constantly sending texts - even when they were in BED together.

She thought it was odd but when she mentioned it to him, Tony blamed work and his two children from a previous relationship.

But now the truth was out. The lying love rat even catalogued the women by their names and the internet sites he had met them on so he wouldn't mix them up on dates.

Instead of breaking down over the betrayal, feisty Sally decided to get her own back.

She rang him to tell him he had made a big mistake by leaving his mobile around.

Then she called all 53 of the astonished women and revealed what he was up to.

Her final act of revenge was to delete all the numbers before chucking the phone outside in the mud along with the rest of his belongings.

Sally never spoke to Tony again. But sadly this was just the start of a four-year string of encounters with dozens of nightmare Mr Wrongs following her divorce in 2004.

Sally says: "My husband and I had been together for ten years and married for four. I really believed we'd be together for ever.

"So when we separated I was totally disorientated and shocked. I just couldn't take it in."

Sally struggled with the breakdown of her marriage but a year later felt ready to start dating again.

Her friends encouraged her to try internet dating so she decided to give it a go. Unfortunately, the first man who contacted her was Tony.

Sally says: "With Tony I thought my faith in men had been restored - but as it turns out I couldn't have been more wrong.

"Discovering he had been taking me for a ride left me feeling angry and foolish.

"I couldn't believe someone who seemed so lovely had turned out to be such a love rat."

Determined not to lose faith, Sally resolved to keep looking for love online.

Sadly the scoundrels just kept coming.

She recalls: "Looking back I've lost track of how many men I've met who were just outright liars or fantasists.

"There was one man who turned up with flowers and pink champagne and we had a nice first date. But then he turned creepy and would hang around on my doorstep every day with roses and wouldn't stop calling me.

"I dated another man called Gary on and off for a few months.

"He said he ran a business but I noticed he was always broke. Then I got a phone call from a woman asking if I knew him.

"It turned out Gary was a homeless conman who had deceived two other women as well as me. He was dividing his time between our three homes and living off all of us.

"Then there was the man who looked like Mr Big from Sex And The City in his online profile photo but when he turned up was a wrinkly pensioner.

"And one who was so boring that when we chatted via webcam I watched the episode of EastEnders on the TV behind him.

Disgruntled

"There were numerous men who lied about being single when, surprise surprise, they were really still married."

It then struck her that Tony's dating profile was still online and there was no way for her to warn other women using the site that he had a hidden agenda.

Sally says: "Talking to other women made me realise I wasn't the only one who wished I'd been able to steer clear of heartache by checking blokes out before I met them. I wanted to create a place where singles could do that."

So she started internet site loveratsinc.co.uk which went live in January this year. It is now so popular that it receives nearly 5,000 hits a month.

The site is free to join and on it disgruntled daters can name and shame the men and women who have mucked them about - and post warnings about them.  Click on the link below to read the full article and to find out more about Sally's website.
