STRICTLY Come Dancing star Mark Ramprakash has been caught out having a secret long-term affair. Former England cricketer Mark, 37, scored over and over during a six-year innings with single mum Sadia Saleem. Dance fans have been bowled over by his ballroom manoeuvres on the hit Saturday night TV show. But his unsuspecting wife Vandana was knocked for six when she found out about his other off-pitch moves. Stunning Sadia, 27, told a close friend: "When it started I didn't know Mark was married with children or I would have never got involved. Sexy "But by the time he had told me I had fallen in love with him. We tried to stop things but there was so much chemistry between us. "Mark has got a great toned physique and is very good looking. I never realised he was famous until people started coming over to him in the pub and shaking his hand. "But as good as it was, it couldn't go on forever so in the end I told Mark we had to stop doing it." Mark, 38, has attracted attention for his sexy routines with TV dance partner Karen Hardy, 29. But the batsman, who has represented England in 52 Test matches, had the full support of his wife Vandana, pictured right. She said last month: "He's always attracted women but it doesn't worry me. He has very definite morals." They had obviously been run out while he was on tour with his old county side Middlesex in 2000. It was when they played Glamorgan in Cardiff that he met Sadia in a bar and asked for her phone number. Next evening they met again and spent the night together at his Novotel room, but Sadia insisted to her friend that they only kissed. The following night he took her for a romantic meal and they ended up in her bed together. She told the friend: "When Mark took his top off I could see how good his body was, he has a fantastic six pack, which was such a turn-on. "There was a lot of kissing and cuddling but we didn't have sex. I think we were both a bit nervous because by then he had told me he was married." Mark moved on to the next match on his tour, though the pair kept in contact with texts and phone calls. She began a serious relationship and had a daughter with her new partner. But in 2004 she rekindled the romance with Mark. He had now moved to Surrey and they were due to play Glamorgan in a one-day match in June that year so he asked Sadia if they could meet up. They met in a bar in Cardiff city centre and ended up back at Sadia's. She told the friend: "We were kissing each other and we went upstairs. We started taking each other's clothes off, it wasn't frenzied or rough but slow and very passionate. Then we began making love." The friend said: "Sadia told me Mark liked to take charge and do all the work. She said they had sex non-stop for about an hour and a half." She added: "Sadia was racked with guilt but she had very strong feelings for Mark and they couldn't stop themselves." Desperate to see Sadia, Mark also made the short journey from Bristol to Cardiff while playing for Surrey against Gloucestershire. Within hours they were naked on her front room sofa. It was eight months before they met again though Mark had texted that he wanted to kiss every part of her body. And that's what he did next time they met for sex. Sadia told her pal: "Mark took control again when we were naked in bed, he was gentle with me and we made love for about an hour. "There was so much build-up to the sex over the months with all the texts messages." Then he was off touring again and Sadia began to get frustrated with the way his cricket tours stopped play. So when he called her whilst captaining Surrey this summer, she told him it was all off. Regrets Last night, Ramprakash family lawyer Naynesh Desai said: "Mrs Ramprakash has known about the brief affair Mark had with Miss Saleem. "Her primary concern at the moment is the wellbeing of her young children." On behalf of Mark, Mr Desai admitted there had been an affair, but said : Thar relationship is now at an end. "Mark bitterly regrets the hurt that he has caused his wife and family and apologises sincerely." Source: News of the world |
